Heifer International

 Young people in our church selected Heifer International as their project during Lent 2014.  They held two bake sales and the congregation was invited to contribute loose change for this offering during the weeks of Lent. The result was enough to buy an “ark”!

The philosophy of Heifer is to work with communities and small farmers to transform small farms in impoverished countries by providing livestock, farming tools and information because they believe small farms are the key to feeding the entire world. One of the requirements of receiving livestock is to pass along the gift to others when their animal(s) reproduce.
